Rauzier recently visited Azerbaijan for the first time. He wanted to create an image that paid homage to the country's rich cultural heritage, while still retaining a sense of its contemporary visual landscape. The result is this new work, which is inspired by Azerbaijan's famed vibrant tapestries and the ever-present old lada cars, an echo of the country's Soviet past.
