Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary 2019January 10 - 13, 2019

In Falling Livres, Rauzier expresses his fascination for literature. The tree depicted is surrounded by books photographed in different libraries Rauzier has visited around the world. Here are the Gospels, the Egyptian Books of the Dead, famous manuscripts, the novels of Victor Hugo, the note written by Marie Antoinette before dying, books relating to botany and geography, the Encyclopedia of Diderot and many more. The books in the branches are the key to the Infinite.

The tree is a symbol of life and the legacy that is literature. A legacy of ancient civilizations and those to come; transmission of knowledge, culture, the arts, science; transmission of the word, the logos and the origins from one generation to the next. It follows the meanderings of human history from its roots up to its last branches; books that can be said to contain the sum of humanity.
