Under the Sea: New works by Doug Argue: Online Only

Pivoting from his well-known text-based abstract compositions, contemporary artist Doug Argue redefined his approach to the canvas during the time of the pandemic.

Over the course of the last year, Argue completed over ten large-scale paintings inspired by aquatic life. Derived primarily from his imagination, the artist celebrates the pure creative force with vividly colored fish, exotic coral structures, sets with singing sea horses, and bright blue-green waters. Escaping from the monotony and isolation of quarantine this past year, Argue dives deep into his imagination to bring to life these paintings, each a creature unto itself, creating his own colossal aquarium, filled with fantastical underwater worlds.

Waterhouse & Dodd is delighted to present an exclusive look at ten of these spectacular new paintings in Under the Sea: New Works by Doug Argue, online March 3 - April 9, 2021.
