Philippe Hiquily

French (Born 1925)

Hiquily is a sculptor who has worked exclusively in metal since 1961, his compositions influenced by Giacometti and Germaine Richier. His work shows an affinity with the Surrealist movement. The Benezit dictionary describes him as “A sculptor of masterful technique (his) imagination is authentic; its humour, which compensates for the cruelty, is at the origin of Kinetic Art.” He is represented in numerous public collections, included the Guggenheim Museum and the Museum of Modern Art, both in New York
