KIM KEEVER: EXHIBIOTIN AND BOOK LAUNCH

NOVEMBER 2017, NEW YORK

Waterhouse & Dodd presents an exhibition of 15 new works by American abstract photographer Kim Keever and the launch of his book `Water Colors`.
This beautiful artist book will be available in a limited edition of 200 in hardcover, and signed and numbered by the artist. Published by 501 Art Books and printed in Italy, the handmade linen-wrapped clamshell box houses the book with 192 color plates on 240 pages and includes a limited edition signed and numbered print by Kim Keever.

"It took me about two years of imagining what it would look like to totally simplify my working process. When I finally tried just dropping paint into water and photographing the results through a 200-gallon aquarium wall, to my amazement, the paint dispersed in so many interesting ways. Timing of the shots is crucial and short-lived, as the process of releasing the dyes and pigments quickly transforms into a random event. It is a very freeing process. I can explore color and form like never before. Even after 20,000 shots I can't predict which will be completely successful and only a fraction are printed. But I have accepted the lack of control and embrace the randomness." – Kim Keever, 2015

JEAN-FRANCOIS RAUZIER:
EXHIBITION OF NEW WORKS AND PRESENTING THE CUBA SERIES

LATE OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER 2017, NEW YORK AND MIAMI

We are delighted to announce this upcoming show featuring the best of Rauzier`s new work, and showing for the first time his stunning Cuba series.

The artist will also visit the galleries in person for the opening events.

Jean-Francois Rauzier is an internationally acclaimed photographer, who uses thousands of high-resolution close-ups views and stitches them into his large compositions, maintaining the focus and sharpness of the smallest detail. Rauzier carefully composes each work from elements and images he has collected over many years, working in some ways more like a painter than a photographer, creating his own supernatural man-made world. Using digital technology, he cuts, moves and constructs buildings, gardens, animals, and many other objects, carefully collected during long photographic sessions to inspire a new fantastic landscape, a capricious picture or a baroque masterpiece. He strives to transform the world according to his dreams, wishes and anxieties, and to recreate the magic and secrecy of ancient legends and stories using 21st century media. All works in the exhibition are C-Type prints, Diasec mounted on aluminum, the best possible conservation practice currently available.
