Claire Jarvis
English (Born 1983)
Jarvis is a recent graduate from the Royal College of Art Masters program in London, having also studied at Northampton College and Utah University. Her work, although based in intense realism, is never less than painterly. Her compositions are elegantly worked but that masks a rather dark underside to the work where familar household scenes are married to more visceral, organic, matter. She has rarely exhibited before, but is already attracting a number of serious collectors, and debuted with Waterhouse & Dodd at SCOPE Miami in December 2009.
