This intimate London scene is a typical oil by the British painter Catherine Ouless. She was the daughter of the distinguished painter Philip Ouless and exhibited four times at the Royal Academy in London.
Her portrait of Andrew Carnegie, the Scottish industrialist is in the collection of the National gallery of Scotland.
